Medieval Warfare v1.01 (c)1990,1991 by: Mike Marzilli Unregistered Vers
====================== ============ ================= =================
Greetings:
I'd first like to thank you for downloading this software, I'm sure you'll
find it very enjoyable. The underlying theme of this game is to get the most
material possesions (Gold, Magic Items, Towns, Castles, etc) before you die/
attain Deityship. To do this, you must fight monsters, explore dungeons, and
raise armies. But, there are others out to take what you've "Earned", and as
part of your life's mission, you must crush them. In this game, the person
with the most toys wins.
Files included in this Door Package:
MIDEVAL.EXE : The Executable Door Program called from your BBS/Locally.
GAMEDOOR.CFG : The file needed to help the Door distinguish which type of
BBS you are running. Please look at this file for
instructions on how to Alter.
MWARMOR.DAT : The Armor File.
MWINTRIG.DAT : The Intrigue File (for Player Quests. Can only be viewed in
the Tavern. The unregistered version will not allow players
to complete these Quests, only view them).
MWKARATE.DAT : List of available Martial Arts Forms.
MWMAP1.DAT : Map of the Surface World. (The Registered version has
MWMAP1.DAT thru MWMAP9.DAT; 1 Surface world and 9 Dungeon
Levels.);
MWMONST.DAT : The Monster File.
MWTOWN.DAT : The Towns File.
MWWEAP.DAT : The Weapons File.
MWCREATE.DOC : How to Create your Character Documentation.
MWOVER.DOC : Game Overview. How to play the game.
MWRACES.DOC : Explanation of the available races.
REGISTER.DOC : Registration Form.
MWMONST.SRT : The Sorted Monster File.
Files Created by the Medieval Door:
MIDEVAL.DAT : The Player File.
MWASSASS.DAT : The Asssassination Target File.
MWPARTY.DAT : The Party File.
MWTALK.DAT : The Tavern Talk File.
MIDEVAL.LST : The Player List File.
MIDEVAL.GNG : The Party List File.
Setting Up the Medieval Game Door.
1) Create a Directory called MIDEVAL. Copy all above files into the Directory.
2) Use a Text Editor to configure GAMEDOOR.CFG to your Specifications.
3) If you are running in LOCAL Mode (with no BBS), after configuring
GAMEDOOR.CFG for Local use, just run MIDEVAL.EXE.
4) You cannot delete ANY .DOC files (except REGISTER.DOC and MIDEVAL.DOC) for
the program calls these files.
Function Keys:
F1 : SysOp available to Fight Toggle. Allows the SysOp to control a character
to fight against the player online.
F2 : This is Chat Mode. This allows the SysOp to Chat with the User. Press
CONTROL-C to exit Chat Mode.
F3 : Pager Toggle for inside the game. There is no PAGE SYSOP option (yet),
so this function key is pretty useless (kinda like your apendix).
F4 : This ends the player's game anywhere and brings him/her back to the BBS.
Upgrading to the Registered Version
What you get:
o Medieval War World Editor (Edit Monsters, Items, Players, and the World Map)
o Intrigue. Send the Players on Quests to Find kidnapped Princesses, Lost
Artifacts and Evil Monsters.

o Play to Level 30. Instead of playing only to Level 5, then being Rerolled.
Play to Level 30.
o Assassins. Hire Assassins to kill another player.
o Dungeons. Expand your world by 1000 times! Up to 1000 Levels of Dungeons!

What's in store for the future:
o A Mideval Terminal Program that will pop screens up instantly. Will
include Text (Real Graphics are in the works also), and musical scores.
o MultiPlayer action for MultiNode Systems.
In Closing:
I would like to thank Robert Brooks and Thomas Whitfield for their great
ideas in making this game. Without their help, the game wouldn't be half as
good as it is. Thanks guys, good to have you on the team.
